🇧🇷 Trip Details:

Over 9 days we’ll explore the city through music, food, nature and local experiences! From samba and Afro-Brazilian history to a stunning 2-night escape to a town often called the "Caribbean of Brazil" for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and pristine beaches.

🏠 Accommodation

We'll be staying two amazing properties for this trip:

• In Rio, we’ll be based in a 5★ hotel in the heart of Copacabana, featuring spacious rooms and a gorgeous rooftop overlooking the beach.

• We’ll then escape the city for two nights at a boutique hotel in Cabo Frio, a beautiful coastal town often referred to as the “Caribbean of Brazil” for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and pristine beaches, just 2.5 hours away from the city. (In this accommodation everyone will have a solo room)

What is the age range for the trip? 

👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏾 Our trips are designed for people who are 21+, with most travellers being typically between the ages of 25–35.

Will there be downtime?

😴 Yes! While the itinerary is packed with incredible experiences, there will also be time to relax, explore independently, or enjoy Rio at your own pace. 

What are the payment options?

 💸 A deposit is initially required to secure your spot. A payment plan is available, allowing you to pay in instalments over 7 months (April-Oct) from £268 per month or you can pay in full right away.

Do I need a visa? 

📄 Visa requirements will depend on your nationality, please make sure you double check this as this will be your responsibility to organise this prior to the trip start date.

Are flights included? 

✈️ Flights are not included as trip participants will be coming from different parts of the world.

❌ Cancellation policy

By booking this trip, you agree to our cancellation policy:

• The initial trip deposit is non-refundable.

• From the date your booking is confirmed, you have a 7-day period during which you may request a refund of any payments made, excluding the deposit.

• After the 7-day period has passed, all payments made are non-refundable, including any future instalments.

👥 Minimum numbers / trip viability

This trip is subject to a minimum number of participants. If the minimum number is not reached by the confirmation date, the trip will be cancelled and guests will be offered a full refund.

✏️ Itinerary Plans

We do not anticipate any changes to the itinerary, but in case of any unforeseen circumstances the itinerary items are subject to change. If any itinerary plans have to be amended, they will be replaced with something of a similar value and theme. We will always notify participants of any changes.

🚨 Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in the total price and it will be required. You will be asked for proof of this before the trip. 

Please make sure your insurance policy covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, electronic and valuable items and any adventurous activities you plan to participate in.

Afternoon arrival: Take some time to settle in, freshen up, or explore the surroundings before the meeting in the evening. 

Evening: You’ll meet your trip hosts from FORTH and fellow travellers. We'll go over the itinerary, and get excited for the incredible week ahead. 

Straight after, we’ll enjoy a group dinner – because what better way to start a trip than with good food and great company? 

Meals Included: n/a

Morning: Wake up to your first full day in Rio and dive straight into its buzzing markets. We’ll first explore Ipanema’s Hippie Market, famous for crafts, unique clothes and accessories.

Afternoon: Then we'll move on to the foodie paradise of Feira da Glória, where you can sample local dishes and of course, listen to live Samba music.

Meals Included: Breakfast

Early Morning: Start the day early with a visit to one of Rio’s most beautiful viewpoints at sunrise.

Morning: Head to the famous Selarón Steps. Here, you’ll have dedicated time to capture photos and content, with the FORTH team on hand to help you get the perfect shots.

Afternoon: Visit the iconic Havaianas store in Ipanema before enjoying free time to explore the city at your own pace.

Late night: Regroup for a night at Pedra do Sal, where music and dancing fill the streets.

Meals included: Breakfast 

Morning: (free time) Enjoy a slow start to the morning and spend your free time in the city however you like.

Afternoon: Venture into the lush green landscapes of Tijuca National Park on a jeep tour discovering waterfalls, viewpoints and the incredible nature that surrounds the city.

Evening: Turn up the energy with a Caipirinha-making session where you’ll learn to mix Brazil’s signature cocktail, followed by a samba class.

Meals included: Breakfast 

Morning: Ride the scenic train through the forest and visit the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, where you’ll take in breathtaking 360° views over Rio.

Afternoon: Leave the city behind and travel to the beautiful coastal region of Arraial do Cabo/Cabo Frio, often called the “Caribbean of Brazil” for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and pristine beaches.

Meals included: Breakfast

Morning: Wake up in the beautiful beach town of Cabo Frio and enjoy breakfast before heading out on a boat trip! We’ll stop at several stunning spots where you can enjoy the clear turquoise waters (and if we’re lucky, we might even spot sea turtles).

Afternoon: Explore the town on a buggy tour, discovering the coastal landscapes, ending the day at the beach to watch an unforgettable sunset.

Meals included: Breakfast

Morning: Enjoy one last relaxing morning in Cabo Frio before we make our way back to Rio.

Afternoon: (free time) Enjoy the afternoon at your own pace.

Evening: We'll gather together at Arpoador Rock for one of the last sunsets of the trip.

Morning: Step into the roots of Rio on a guided walking tour of Little Africa exploring the powerful legacy of Afro-Brazilian history.

Afternoon: (free time) Enjoy the city your way, whether that’s picking up last-minute souvenirs, paragliding over Rio’s coastline, or taking in the views from a helicopter ride.

Evening: Celebrate a great trip with our final activity: a Brazilian cooking class! We’ll learn how to prepare traditional dishes and enjoy our last group moments, taking back great memories and delicious recipes to try at home.

We'll have our last breakfast together before we say our goodbyes.
